This position is responsible for assisting mechanics in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of vehicles, machinery, and mechanical equipment. This role supports efficient shop operations by performing routine tasks, organizing tools and parts, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

This is a part-time position, and hours may depend on school schedules.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Basic mechanical knowledge or experience in a similar role.
3. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team or independently.
4. Willingness to learn and take direction.
5. Valid driver’s license required.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist mechanics with vehicle and equipment repairs and maintenance.
2. Retrieve and organize tools, parts, and supplies.
3. Perform basic tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
4. Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
5. Help with lifting, moving, and positioning heavy parts and machinery.
6. Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
7. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the lead mechanic or supervisor.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
